« on: November 08, 2013, 04:12:52 am »Briggs engine without welding up intake runner doesnt have enough csa to feed that cubic inch anyway.so using longer rod lets piston stay near tdc longer.when you don't have enough cylinder head this is a advantage.less piston and rod travel equals less rod bolt torsional load also.most engine experts don't see small rod ratio changes such as this would be making little to no power change.jmo
Bigger bore unshrouds intake valve allowing bigger valve to be used.always a plus....
