As Jeff said, just blend it in....the "green" area for sure. I personally have found  better gains by softening the "yellow" area on the exhaust side of the head.

Owen, I'm unaware of any difference between 05's....however, in 97 they changed from a smaller flwheel side main journal early, to a larger journal in late 97....hope thats helps out some.

Owen, I do not know what you have for fuel choices up there....but I have no issues with non ethanol 98 octane we can get here.

sould be easy to weld for a good welder. problem is since its on top of the sleeve there good chance the cylinder will move. might need to rebore after welding
thanks, and it needs to be bored out anyways, so it is quite possible to do.

Has anybody broken a coil mounting ear off the block, that was able to be repaired?  And if so, how, or what is the preferred method?  Its a clean break, and the block is used, so I am unsure of how clean the aluminium can get for welding it. Thanks, Jim.
