Briggs Flathead / Re: Opposed twin flywheels
« on: June 03, 2007, 08:21:17 pm »
Having it spun and magnifluxed are great ideas.

I would think that the flywheels with the bolt on fins would be easy duplicate on a lathe. The ring gear for the starter can be bought through Briggs im pretty sure, and can then be pressed onto the newly made flywheel. Then the plastic fins could simply be bolted onto the new peice. I would suggest having the new peice balanced, just in case.

OOHH i LOVE those front rims!!! Where'd you get them? I've never seen spoke rims on a mower like you got!

It was you that posted it Murdr.

Is it me, do you have more caster on the front right tire than the left? Im guessing its to help you "plant" that wheel solid when your in the corners.

Could you get us a picture of your brake setup there, there has been many people ask how to put a disk brake on the axle of a transaxle (which assuming your not licking the rear end is whata you run).

Without a locked rear axle, how effective is your brake? I would see it locking up just the right wheel and "throwing" you or pulling you to the right. Also, without the rear axle locked, do you have any problems with off-straight launchs? That differential is sending power to the easiest wheel to turn, and i can see one of them spinning and giving you an off-center launch.

Overall, a very nice looking mowchine! good job.

Squidd, did this mowchine not come with rear fenders factory or did you just choose not to run them?
Very nice work, tell us, how does she run?

Yup, coil, pull it off and replace it, should run like a top after that.

Other Engines / Re: Honda smoking

Just a question, was the engine sitting on its side at anytime? Ive had several engines that sat on their side and oil poured into the muffler. Just something to check out.

Post your Pics! / Re: 1972 Case C/P or Mod-X
« on: May 09, 2007, 09:24:58 pm »
Thanks Jack! Pictures of the current setup of both mowers would be great too, mainly the steering and driveline. Ive realized the space between the frame rails on my Case is VERY narrow, which means a tight fit for the clutch, guides, and idlers. I was planning on converting my Case to a peerless 700 and live axle, but i am unsure of where ill have room for the 700.

Jack, i have a Case 110, basically the same mowchine. Im planning on bulding it up as an IMOW at first, then work my way up (if i can ever get to that point). Can you send me as many pics of the bult as you can? i would greatly appreciate it! My email is  money89tractors@yahoo.com.

Ive seen some pictures of another mower your have, another case, and theyre both VERY nicely built. Great work.

Driveline / Re: clutch with 700trans?
« on: May 01, 2007, 09:20:16 pm »
With a peerless 700 and a live axle, you CAN use a centrifugal clutch, but most use a tension setup just like a factory mower. When the clutch is engaged, the belt is tight (pedal up) and when the clutch is disengaged (pedal down) the belt is loose, allowing it to slip.

picture above is the clutch setup on one of Georges mowchines.
