Driveline / Re: Ec 700 series worth it?

We have used the transmission plate with the bushing and it did not help as much as you think it would. We were constantly replacing bearings, seals and still breaking pinions. We made a pinion shaft bearing plate. We have been running the same tranny for over 4 years now and never had a minutes trouble out it. We welded a shaft in the top side of our h-bushing mounted the pulley like normal. The we took a plate and mounted it under tranny in the middle we milled it out so a bearing would fit in it. The shaft we welded in our h-bushing rides in the bearing.

Chassis / Re: In FX can you

This is from the rule book under FXT.........

12.BODY: Body can be home made but must resemble a lawn tractor. No sharp edges. Rear fenders
must not be wider than the bulge or widest part of the rear tires.

with that said seems to me you can make it from scratch.

I know you said this was a honda mower but do you think a rear engine white/mtd would have the same sort of frame? I really dig this frame it looks more kinda hot rodish.

Im not sure maybe someone else can chime in on this one.

Kohler Engines / Re: Engines for FXS
« on: October 10, 2012, 12:30:14 am »
Doesn't say it MUST be an OHV, It says MAX engine. a Flatheasd single is legal.

Lester

this is what  the rule book says for FXS.......2. MAX ENGINE: single cylinder Max 18hp or 33ci OEM rated OHV or Opposed twin Flat Head 46 ci maximum flathead coming from the lawn equipment origin (4 cycle engines). No fuel
injection.

I dont see flathead single anywhere in this rule

Ha all im saying is this you telling me blockzilla not aloud there all 5 horses just like you said they all Gx390s go tell that to ones that use a pressure washer and generator engines cause i found out the facts just look.

read the rule again it says it must be an OHV motor a blockzilla is not.

Personally if the actual mower isn't legal to race in any fashion, then the engine from that mower isn't legal either. Again my interpretation. If that's the closest thing you have to offer as a mower then even the gx390 is a no go. I'm still looking for the Predator engine in any mower.

with that being said that would rule out the blockzilla being legal for this class because it a flathead single.

Ya iv seen seen those in europe that had those motors but they didnt back in the back in the day use them for that type of mower and pluse that mower isnt legal. Pluse GX390 is ohv not a flathead like those england mowers would had stock on them i psted a video with i think few that you were thinking that had some. Like i said again the ones were on mower where vertical shaft not horizontal it was like GXV390.
Pluse not to mention i never seen a predator be on a stock mower before either?
i see the word tractor but i dont see a tractor with but i definitly see tiller. If you find me a mower with it own it ill believe it.

well I saw a mower deck on the front of it as well. It also had a riding attachment as well.

Got the C/P back together and running good.  Thinking of bringing it with me on my way to Atlanta for a week and a half.  Only 5 hours from my daughters house to this race.  Guess I would race it in  ModX.  REally, really thinking hard about this one.  Would be cool to get to meet some other racers and have a great day of racing.

I was hopin to have my new mower together for this one but doesnt look like I will make it. Almost through painting but still got all the small details to finish along with getting my engine back together.

Tank you have time to get that finished. I am trying to get 7 mowers ready for this event but If you dont they are putting another race on Jan. 21,2012 maybe you can make that one
