Non-Affiliated Races / Any interest?
« on: June 09, 2014, 05:10:20 am »
Just wondering if there is any interest in running on a 1/8 mile go kart track. It is located in Akron Indiana. About 2 hours north of Indy, 1 hour west of Ft. Wayne and maybe little over 1 hour from the Michigan state line. We are insured with the NKA and have plenty of room on our facility. My family and I took over the Akron Speedway last year and We would like to put something together this year but need to know if there is any interest first. I have been president of the Mow-Wheelin Racing League for the past 2 years and would like to grow this sport more in Indiana. Please let me know your thoughts or concerns on this and what it would take to get you here. Thank you.

I don't think your going to find anyone that will give you a yes or no answer. Anything can and will break eventually. With a little prep work and keeping them under 6000rpm I've had them last 2 seasons. Telling you exactly how long they will last is like predicting how long a light bulb will last before it blows.

I've always ran a stock rod in mine with the govenor removed. Also runing billet flywheel, mild cam, but I've upgraded the rocker arms. On the rod I open the oiling hole a tad and add a chamfer around it.

Jeremy,

In stead of charging $60-$65 for shipping on top of the engines price, we just decided to roll the cost of shipping/insruance/signature into the price and offer Free shipping to simplify the order process.

Thanks for clearing that up. Will be ordering one in a few weeks hopefully. I'm in the process of buying a house and should be closing next week, so hopefully after things settle down here ill give ya a call.

I've been watching these for a few months also. I think I'm going to try and take a stab at it. Oh and by the way the price has went up $60 in a week. I'm almost positive the electric start models were $289.

I met Brian 3 years ago at finals weekend in Ohio. Became friends with him and his dad and have kept in touch since. We made the trip from Indiana to Alanama for the benefit race. Last year I helped him at the Grand Rapids indoor race. I will always remember one of his trips he made to Chicago for chemo he stopped by and raced with us during one of our 2 day shows. After having chemo on Thursday, he was there to race on Friday and Saturday, that is something that always impressed me. You will not be forgotten Brian.

I have worked for Gearte Engines and Nyes Racing Engines and have never heard of a warranty on any kind of racing engines. Basically like everyone has said, you don't know how they were treated. Don't care if it has 1 lap on it or 1000, its not gonna happen.

I'm not sure what size the pilot jet is. I did take needle and float apart and cleaned them, but never thought about the needle having a burr on it or something. Might have to try that.

Because I don't have one lol. I'm sure they would be better by far. I'm not a big carb guy so I don't know if I'm missing something simple or what.

It's suppose to be a gas carb but that doesnt mean anything. I don't know how many phone calls and emails I have made to this place and they keep telling me to put a bigger jet in it. Have not been very helpfull. I've sent this out to EES and he went through it and didn't find anything other than taking the 110 jet out of it and putting a 102 in
