I have a 30ci vanny- with a hesitation comming out of the corners. I'm thinking i'm a little to lean on the low side. Does any one have a picture of the jets to drill out? I think i know but before i start drilling I thought I would check here. Is it the screw in jets ?
thanks

Am I correct that all vanny's take the same valve cover regardless of what rocker arm they have? or do the shaft mounted / skeleton type have different covers?
thanks

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / cam help
« on: August 19, 2011, 10:13:03 pm »
Do the stock cams break at high rpms? Meaning, if I get my stock cam reground to get more lift etc. will it be safe to run up to say 7000rpms? It has the hole in it from the compression relief. I have a local guy that I could use to do it but I don't have a solid :censored: blank to grind.
Your help / input is appreciated.

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / 16hp vanny stock rod question
« on: August 09, 2011, 10:55:44 pm »
Has anyone tried using the stock rods on a 16 vanny with the Gx200 flat top piston? Is this a bad idea? I know the rods need to be bored to accept the larger pin. I was wondering if the rod would take it. I was thinking of running the Cheetah cam but stock flywheel so rpms would be somewhat lower. Any thoughts or words of wisdom are greatly appreciated.

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / 16 hp vanny budget build
« on: August 05, 2011, 10:07:27 am »
I'm working on getting a 16 hp vanny (30ci i believe) ready to run. I was wondering if getting a carb from an 18 is worth doing as a low budget way to grab a bit more power. Or is there a better OEM type that would be better. Right now everything is stock. I'm still trying to formulate a plan as to how far I'm going to build this. The rules we run under (for my class) say that I can use only a carb from a mower. It can be altered. Also, I have to run the stock (not alum) flywheel. I know there is many different ways to go. I guess I'm looking for a budget build that would allow me to still be in this class. I do know about EC but haven't called them yet. I thought I would get a little advice from those who have been there and done that.
Thanks in advance.
