« on: August 05, 2012, 11:03:01 pm »
I am pretty sure u can use a front axle kit that EC sells. But can a SS use a 700 trans and kart rear axle from EC?

Thanks

If so are there or do you have build pics? I was looking at the parts diagram and thought it looked doable.

Chassis / Weight rules? rear axle lead?
« on: April 02, 2010, 08:28:11 am »
In late models, mods and karts there is a min weight with driver.

Do you guys have a min weight with driver rule? Otherwise how do you balance the difference between a 140 pound guy racing a 240 pound guy?

in cars and karts the basic weight placement is low , left and to the rear  :)

Is rear axle lead allowed? in karts we turn one of the cassettes sideways to adj lead the other up to adjust cross weight.

Driveline / flipping transaxle with the input pulley down?
« on: March 30, 2010, 09:14:01 pm »
as opposed to using a jack shaft. i would guess it would need rotated 180 degrees as well. Any reason why it would not work? would the oil leak out the input shaft?

Chassis / rear tire stagger?
« on: March 30, 2010, 04:49:20 pm »
I was reading the rules. I noticed no stagger allowed, why is that? Having raced dirt late models and karts stagger was important.

The 6 x 6 1/2" front alum wheels you guys use, are those kart wheels?  I have lots of those in various widths  :)

Thanks

Garden Tractor Pulling / 12HP WH Puller detail pics
« on: March 01, 2010, 03:42:01 pm »
Getting warmer, here so started cleaning and checking fasteners.

The top of the transmission was pretty dirty and needs the paint touched up:

The 12HP Kohler is cleaning up nicely

Was going toi replace the B79 OptiBelt, but it looks like new

couple more pics

The motor pulley is adjustable, all the way out for smallest size

the hinge is to lock the tranny in 2nd gear, even though this tranny has been modded inside to not jump out of gear , why gamble:

Garden Tractor Pulling / 18HP puller comes home
« on: February 22, 2010, 04:40:42 pm »
Bought  12 and 18 HP pullers back in Nov from Allan in Mohawk NY, but finally got the 18HP home.

The 18HP OHV Kohler motor is build for pulling and includes a Vogel cam.

Alum wheels front and rear and Firestone double cut tires on the rear.

I may sell the motor and put a 20HP V-twin on it, not decided yet.

a couple more pics

left 18 HP, right 12HP

Garden Tractor Pulling / C120 GT Puller project begains
« on: October 27, 2009, 09:11:18 pm »
Got the frame cleaned up , primed and painted

This tractor will be from at least 3 different tractors.

The frame and tin work is a C-160 eight speed, the trans is 8 speed 8 pinion from a C-81, the motor is a 12 HP Kohler from a C-120 Auto.

The C-160 tranny has to be taken apart and get new seals at some time, it will be a spare or go in another tractor.

Maybe i should name it Frankenstein biggrin.gif

This one will be a stock 12HP class

some more progress

running , replaced the fuel line with new, took it out and drove it around

Still have to build wheelie bars and mid and front weight brackets, and more tin work

Garden Tractor Pulling / Any Wheel Horse Pullers here?
« on: September 23, 2009, 03:22:10 pm »
I pull Cubs, but am planing to build a couple of WH stock pullers, likely 12 and 20 HP classes

i just bought 4 Horses; B-80, C-160, C-125 all 8 Speeds, and a C-120 with a hydro, but a good 12 HP Kholer motor. The B-80 and C-125 have no motors.
