How many mowers are you getting each weekend? Or is it mostly a kart track now?

Briggs Flathead / Tachometer Adapter
« on: September 15, 2011, 08:10:51 pm »
Just wondering, did anyone ever actually purchase a tachometer adapter from Bill Roth? Also does anyone still have the manual that he had once posted? Looking to build on myself but I don’t remember where i put his little manual he made up on them. Any help would be great. He also hasn't been on in a while I see. Didn't know if he just disappeared or what.

I've always had that "motto" up there, I just moved it. I know you have always said that, thats why I put it up there, even though I might not be the best at doing it. You know I try like heck though. You can't say anyone passed more mowers than me last year though whether thats a good thing or bad   oh well. Matt if you have any questions Lester is the man to ask.

Chassis / Re: murry steering
« on: January 13, 2010, 02:50:23 pm »
what I did to make direct steering on my moer I got rid of the old setup. Welded a bearing on the bottom of the steering shaft. Welded a tab off of the steering shaft. Then we welded a tab that goues out over the left side tire on to top of the collar that is on top of the joint. here are some pics maybe they will explain it better. I also don't know what type of setup is on your style of mower.

Driveline / Re: double pully clutch Vs single
« on: January 13, 2010, 02:27:09 pm »
well on both of the mowers that i race they have a double pully system. To my experience the 2 pulley system is easier to make and it also takes up a lot of slack but is very responsive when you hit the clutch. I very rarley push my clutch more than an inch. But i think the biggest factor is going to be what is going to be easier for you to build. Again the double takes up a big belt which yes does give you more of a belt tolerence.
