If it is a 3/4 inch, it is usable but you can't put much power to it. If it is 5/8 then it is useless.

It has 3/4 axle shafts but I would only be putting say 14 HP to it so I would ''think'' it would be able to handle that.

Internally the 600 transaxle is quite similar to the 350/400 transmission, except it has the differential and axles.
Prone to popping out of 3rd gear, and due to design/shape, can be a pain to mount. 3/4" axles are also weak and prone to bending.

Everybody says this, but the only time I have seem a 3/4 inch axle break is on a mower with a fully built briggs. Lots of guys run doc locked mst transmissions out here and have no issues.

I guess ill run it till it pops and throw in a better transaxle, thanks for the info.

It will "pop" out of gear. It's an issue those transaxles/transmissions had.
2 options are, gear it to run in second, or use a bungee to hold the shift lever into 3rd. I've seen both used.
I don't recall the "why", other than it was a shift fork thing.

Ill bungee cord it, it's just racing with a group of buddies of mine on his track so it's all good. if I keep having issues ill drop in a kart axle and side shaft engine.
