Title: Gx440 gen 2 adjustable flywheel
Post by: Tyler Steinmetz on April 18, 2014, 09:13:52 pm
I was turning my motor over and it seems as the motor is firing to soon I have check the cam timin and valve lash. My only thing is the adjustable flywheel I have on it. It is set to the - side of the adjustment. Would spinning the flywheel more towards the + side crate a later spark?? Please any advice appreciated!

It started up and ran off Sprays of carb clean. Then suddenly it made a loud ping. As if something hit the block or valve cover. Sounded like a bell. Then it started couple more times. And now it'll do a full rotation then spin counter clockwise half the rotation. Not sure what's goin on

Sounds like a sheared flywheel key.

Ill be shocked. It's all brand new parts. But I'll check it out!
It made that ping. Then I tried starting it again and it started, I wasn't sure what it was. Then when it started spinning and so on. It made it again (pin sound that is) and it will only back fire
Unbalanced crank shaft wouldn't do that would it?
Is it possible I dropped a valve?

tanks right my buddy did that few days ago. Shifted timing off. No I ran with balancer in it with unbalanced crank. Most people run them that way.
