Kohler Engines / Re: kohler top end won't clear out
« on: July 07, 2013, 06:39:13 pm »
Just seems like it is too rich on the top on, like it's not quite getting there like a spit and sputter.... I know at the last race I messed up and put 110 gas in it and iif you don't have the compression it won't burn it (accidentally grabbed the wrong can) but before that running pump gas I still couldn't get the top end to clear out and having someone spank me with a 13 hp briggs is frustrating

Kohler Engines / kohler top end won't clear out
« on: July 07, 2013, 05:56:21 pm »
Hey guys I'm running a Kohler cv490s in my racer right now but I can't seem to get it to clear up on the top end. I noticed the lmk carb doesn't have a high speed adjustment.... Any idead or advice would be appreciated. I have a billet flywheel on it currently if that helps.... I was thinking of maybe making a plug for the bottom of the bowl and limiting the amount of fuel at WOT...

Thank you

Yes the flywheels are all we are allowed to do other than play with the carbs a bit. We made this up for the guys that don't have a lot of cash to throw at them so it the yoopers poor man class if that's what ya wanna call it lol

It would be ungoverned, basicly buy a mower on the side of the road cut the governor and have some fun...
I forgot to mention that the Kohler is a pro with hydraulic valves

What would I be better off with? Not really sure I'm posting in the right spot but I'm leaning towards the briggs but not really sure, that's where you guys come in :)

Thanks
