Racing Mower Builds / Geos W.O.O Modified Build

This is my Western Ontario Outlaw Modified class build. Have raced Outlaw the past years since we formed it but a growing family forced me to move down a few classes to some cheaper racing.
 It started as a Davison Comando. Its Powered by a FC540V Kawi mated to a Peerless 600 transaxle on 13s all around. This build was 10x harder than any outlaw or other tractor I have built, getting a short verticle jackshaft and a manual clutch in a small place can be tedious LOL. Its still not completely finished. I need a gel cell or battery that can lay in its side to fint i nthe location i have for it, as well as the front grill finished and painted as well as decals and numbers.

Other Engines / Kawasaki 14hp help/info please

Im looking into purchasing an engine, but would like some info on it. All I was give was this: fc54ov and was told its a single, 14hp, verticle OHV and needs a starter. im lookingot race this engine in a govenorned class and want all possible info i cna get on it. I have not seen the engine as it is a drive to pick up but hte price is right if its a good engine.

Also, what so starter run for o nthese engines or was there a recoil start aviable.

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Vanguard Single barrel carb on alcohol HELP

Ok has anyone successfuly ran a vanguard single barrel carb on alcohol. We have made a micro sprint class that run the 16hp vanguard. We are wanting to run them on alcohol and still enforce a STOCK APPEARING rule. If anyone know what needs to be done to these carbs to make them work on alky please let me know.

With help from Matthys racing we were able to finish her the night before the first race of the season (WesternOntarioOutlaws). Its a newer scotts/yardman style walk threw chassis with a retro MTD body hung on her, powered by a alcohol breathing Kohler.

Racing Mower Builds / Geo's 2009 W.O.O SuperMod

The winter is long so i decided to start another build for the fun of it. Its for the Western Ontario Outlaws SuperMod class (class below our outlaw class). I am about 2 weeks into the build and so far i have almost got it rolling.
 It will be crapsman frame/fenders(this is un like me to use one of these) powered by a 13hp honda (Kindof underpowered to all the ryker vannies) But I will make up for hp in weight, chassi setup and drivetran efficancy. It will have 13s on all four corners and will be using a centclutch like the outlaw.

I know I have the other tractor in progress, but I decided to start a 2nd on the side. Its for a lower class than my other mower, supermod (one step down from outlaw) and I wont likely have it done for race season unless I have my other done really soon. what you see inthe pics is the stripped frame and body .. then I put her on a diet and just placed the body on and tires next to it to see what its going to look like.

Ill post pics as i progress on the build, so ill start with these...






This is all That Iam Using from the mower...

I guess I should describe my direction with the mower.
 I am going to steal the engine from last years racer (18hp kohler) And is getting a pricy overhaul  >:D lol...  It will be a direct/live axle setup...and i guess Ill leave the rest for later as i progress.

Tires / What Is The BEST

I was just wondering what is the best tire for multi dirt/grass type racing ?? for a 6" and 8" rim .. perferably smallest profile. I am currently using 13" turfmasters, But Iam almost positive Im allowed any rubber.
