Coffee Shop / Does my mower pass ARMA rules?
« on: March 05, 2012, 02:58:12 pm »
I was told at an ARMA race that my mower isn't legal, as it's less than 4" inch from frame to ground on the front, but after I read the rules it seems to state that rule exempts Super Modified classes. Is this true, I would run in Super Modified Single.

Post your Pics! / prescription goggles
« on: February 13, 2012, 04:35:34 pm »
Hi Guys, We had a discussion a while back about what eyewear we all use. Some of us were only wearing our prescription glasses for protection. By the way, it is not sufficient protection and not allowed at most races. I ordered a pair of prescription goggles at http://www.zennioptical.com for only $30.00 and that includes shipping. I got them in only 11 days  :omg: and the best part, I CAN SEE!! I know some of you have a hard time finding goggles that your glasses will fit under, so I thought I would share. I attached pictures. Excuse the ugly Power Ranger looking pic  ;)

Hey Everyone, This is a new organization starting up this year in NC. We will be racing on some nice, BIG tracks! I have raced with many of the drivers that will be racing with Rebels and Rednecks, and this group is friendly, fair and competative. Hope to see some of you guys from Heymow there. So I can say you got beat by a girl!  :D

Coffee Shop / Sandy tracks??
« on: February 03, 2012, 05:28:37 pm »
I've watched videos of racers in FL and SC with sandy tracks. Is it more difficult than our clay/dirt tracks? It just looks like the mowers struggle to get around tracks with that much sand. I like racing a wet clay track ;)

Coffee Shop / How long does an EC universial air filter last?
« on: February 03, 2012, 03:46:21 pm »
I've ran mine for 1 season. Should I clean it or buy a new one? How do you recommend cleaning it?
Sorry, I should have did a search first. You've already discussed this topic. I'm going to clean with Purple power and spray with wd-40. If that isn't right, let me know. Do you guys oil your filter every race or once per season?

Non-Affiliated Races / REBELS AND REDNECKS UNITED MOWER RACERS in NC
« on: January 24, 2012, 12:11:59 pm »
Anyone interested in running with a new lawn mower group in NC, please contact me (Lynn Milstead) to see how many drivers will be starting up. I for one will be racing with them and my group (Highside Racing Crew) More Info and tracks we will be racing on, will come later. I have raced with allot of people in this new group and have really enjoyed the fairness and diversity of the mowers they have. This is an independent group with their on rules. There will be a class for everyone too race, including the ladies.

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / What carb should I use?
« on: December 21, 2011, 11:23:37 am »
Right now I have a 30mm honda motorcycle carb on my 14.5 briggs single, I may want to run with SOMA or AMRA and from what I am told this carb isn't legal for either. Could someone recommend a carb for me?
