Tecumseh Engines / mounting a 17 single.

On a Tecumseh single can you drill the two rear mounting holes all the way through and use a nut and bolt? I'm having trouble keeping it secured.

I have a well built 17.5 and I have noticed that it has a small miss between 5-6k rpm. Any ideas on what this could be?

For all of you who have had problems buying items on here or anywhere else, I just wanted to take a second and say that Larry is a stand up guy. I recently purchased a Digatron tach from him  on here for a good price. Larry shipped it very quickly and when received, it was in better shape than described by Larry. Have no fear from ever purchasing anything from him.  Thanks again Larry.

Driveline / set up
« on: September 01, 2013, 05:13:12 pm »
I'm needing some advice on my sons mower.  We run on a track that has 150ft. Straight aways and his set up is a stock motor with a 7 inch pulley going to a 4 inch on a 700 tranny with 13 tooth sprocket to 48 tooth sprocket on rearend. His rear tires are 16-7.50x8. When he comes out of a corner it takes him all of the straight away to build his rpm's to 4100 range. I need a little lower gear. Would using a 14 tooth on the tranny fix this issue, or any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. He constantly finishes 2nd or 3rd out of 6 to 8 mowers.  We need a little more.

Yesterday my 2 sons and I head out for road 8 1/2 hour road trip to Alexandra, Arkansas. We had a close call outside of Jackson, Ms. When we hydroplaned and was doing 360's down the interstate. But we continued on and finally ended up at Tony Gober's house. What a Nice guy!!! We purchased his awesome mower, met a new friend and had a lot of good laughs along the way. This sport is truly fun in every aspect!!!!

Briggs Flathead / 12.5 flatty
« on: June 25, 2013, 08:42:57 pm »
I am wanting to build a 12.5 Flatty engine to "stock"  but with all the allowable tricks done to it. Problem is, I'm not an engine builder. Who can and would build a very nice stock engine?
