Briggs Flathead / cool bore piston
« on: April 28, 2020, 12:08:06 am »
ive searched and done a little research but haven't exactly found the right answer. with a model 25 or cool bore 28 can you use a replacement piston that was for an iron sleeved? I have a model 25 I'm building to likely cut grass again but like always the bore is scored and plan to bore or hone to next oversize with an actual hone. what about a magnesium piston? could you bore and sleeve to 31 and make basically a big bore model 28?

Briggs Flathead / oppy deck height

What is the deck height on an oppy block?
Rod lengths on all models?
Head cc?
Part number on bigger aftermarket valves and do you still use billet lifters on an isky cam?

Same with bore deck height of model 25 and 28

A buddy of mine gave me an old mower, like mid 70's. Motor was locked up but I managed to get the crank out. It didn't have a syncro balance. It was all counter weight. Anyone else have this?

Briggs Flathead / intake manifold

will an intake off an ohv fit on a flathead? they look like a longer smoother shot. instead of a sharp corner. i can modify my stock intake in any way at my track so i figured an ohv intake would be great.

Briggs Flathead / oppy hp max?
« on: December 02, 2012, 04:30:02 pm »
what hp should i expect to have with a 42 splash lube oppy. camed arc rods and flywheel with avs pistons ported polished and carbed. is would be for an outlaw. guys with 50hp inteks say that 50hp is more than enouph even.

Briggs Flathead / identify
« on: November 04, 2012, 11:30:38 am »
can anyone identify any of these http://s1339.beta.photobucket.com/user/westonedelbrock/media/weston.jpg.html yes i know its a camshaft flywheel and crankshaft. i remember pulling them out of a motor a few years back that had a seized piston. the flywheel key is very skinny, full pressure lube crank and cam. roughly an 8 hp. the armature went on the inside of the flywheel for the spark plug. i thought it was briggs but it mite not be. http://s1339.beta.photobucket.com/user/westonedelbrock/media/weston1.jpg.html http://s1339.beta.photobucket.com/user/westonedelbrock/media/weston2.jpg.html
