Decided to go up onto the flagstand and film the feature SS race last night at Phatbottom.. Didnt know that I was going to film one of the best races I have seen in a long time. The finish was so close that there were some upset people at the track afterwards.. Congrats to Travis Phillips, Mark Ledford, Derrick Robinson and Josh Sexton for one heck of a race. Interested to see what call you guys would have made.. Sorry for the shaky hand syndrome and poor filming but I found myself watching the race instead of the camera. Please be adivised that the "D" word and the "S" word are heard in the video.

Looks like the blue mower won. The racer in the green shirt was coming on though.
-
Marc the blue one on top or in the middle?

Middle one.

Ok thanks.. The flagman caught a lot of heat last night but I agree with you..

When the fans have a favorite, and he was close, and the flagman has to make
an unpopular close call, he becomes the worst guy at the track. When the flagger
is watching a line across the track, and he is watching 3 mowers cross the line at
one time, he has to line of sight it, and split second that call right then. Most of
the fans are looking at the finish line at an angle, and the call has to be made in
the flag stand. The only way you can take that call out of the flaggers hand, is to
have a high speed mounted camera at the line.
-
I would said the guy at the top had won it. Close call though.

Your are 100% correct Marc. There were several who had pics and video from an angle and it made all three at some point look like they had won. The track official walked down and asked the flagman who won and that was it... It was crazy after that race. One person walked away happy and two werent... Fortunately all of those guys are good friends and the hurt feeelings will be gone by next race.. Still have yet to determine 2nd and 3rd ...

Yall need a chalk line all the way across the track, into the infield, so when the track part of the line is
rubbed out, you have an inside marker for all to see. Or pull a line across the track, and paint it.
When the racing gets this close, you need some help.
-
Thats a great idea.. We will have that for the next race..

I love to see close race at that point since all are equal its all based on driving errors. Nice looking track and at where race in Potterville Michigan the super sportsman race equal to and are based on who makes less errors on driving for right now.

Great video, really enjoyed the close racing and glad to see the BP's are alive and well. I really liked the fact no one was on the track during the race, all flag people off out of harms way. Good job!
-
nice race ,I wish we had that many bps around here.there dead im actully the only one locally lol, supermods took over theres a big field of them now .
-
If you slow the video down and do a shot by shot, the guy in the green shirt won by 6ish inches. But great race!
-
Well all i have to say is that was one heck of a race and im happy i was able to be a part of it. By far my favorite race so far. Not really sure wht happened to the 49 mower but it felt like twice the mower after that caution. In closing i will say travis yall better watch out next race lol
-
This is about as good as I can get with what we had available..
-
i would call that for the guy in the middle.
-
Flagman called it right. That was a FANTASTIC race.
