so ive had this 16hp vanny for a while but just finally got around to installing it in the mower. Ran it today and noticed it sounded like it had a bit of a knock. im attaching a video of what it sounds like when its not running and i move the flywheel back and forth. Any help would be awesome.

Kohler Engines / horzontal and vertical interchangability!!
« on: September 15, 2006, 12:59:44 am »
I have a friend who is willing to give me a vertical shaft kohler command v twin and i was wandering if all the parts for the horizontal shaft motors are interchangable with the vertical shaft engines. if so you could build a mean kohler if not then its no more than a boat anchor to me because it needs major head work to get it running again. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Driveline / 700 peerless help
« on: April 06, 2006, 10:07:21 pm »
ok i went and ordered the usual beef up parts for the 700 peerless(steel input and bevel gears and etc.) well today i went and pulled my tranny apart to put in the new parts but was soon stumped on how the steel bevel gear goes in. the bevel gear thats in the tranny has another gear on the side of it(im guessing this is 1st gear), but the new bevel gear doesnt have this and i have no idea on how to make this work with out it. any and all help will be appreciated.

Driveline / New 700series
« on: March 13, 2006, 05:26:19 pm »
i was just on the tecumseh website looking at the 700series trannys and was thinking about buying a new one. i noticed that they sell them now with optional ball bearings on the output sides. would it be ok to run a ball bearing on the output side with how fast were turning these things or would it be better to have a machine shop put in a needle bearing setup? also every place ive looked online sells the peerless with a 9 spline and not the 32 spline. do they still make a 32 and where can i find one? if not do they make a sprocket to fit the 9 or do i have to make something work?

Driveline / tranny gear
« on: February 22, 2006, 05:51:19 pm »
does anybody know of a place on the internet that sells the sprockets for the output side of a 700 peerless. i cant drive by myself yet so its much easier to just order off the web instead of trying to bum a ride to a mower shop.

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / OilCooler
« on: December 27, 2005, 10:33:47 pm »
Would running an oil cooler be against USLMRA rules? i know during the summer out here in Delaware it gets really hot and we all know what happens when an engine overheats and it happens quite often out here during racing.
