You never mentioned boring to fit 31ci pistons. There is no substation for cubic inches. I believe it will make about 50ci. The cam grinder to use it Tim Isky. He's been grinding oppy cams for a long time. You are on the right track.

If I'm not mistaken George used to run a #35 from the engine back. Very much like karts. I had a lot of power and it held up.

I have only dealt with the cast iron twins. To be completely honest I didn't know about the aluminum ones. I do agree that Kohlers are better engineered. Learn something new all the time! I do know performance parts are harder to come by. I do know G-Team has a good dvd on building the Briggs oppy.

There is no gain just headaches putting a motorcycle carb on a lawnmower engine.

It's been a couple years since parts have been around for these. ARC and maybe EC carb are your best chances for any parts.
