Other Engines / Good Coils Gone Bad?
« on: July 08, 2012, 05:27:44 pm »
Is it possible for a Briggs coil to work great then one day not funtction after 5500 or so RPMS. I know I once purchased some cheaper "Aftermarket" coils and they only worked on low RPMS..once they got to around 5000-5500 the motor sounded like it had a Rev Limiter on it. Coils just didn't work at that point. I switched to some Briggs ones I had laying around and the motor turned over 7000 no problem. So my question is can a Briggs coil eventually do the same thing...(Start to lose function above 5500 RPMS)..my thoughts were always either a coil works or it doesn't...no inbetween...so is this possible or have you had it happen??

Coffee Shop / MTD part number question?
« on: May 03, 2011, 11:34:33 pm »
Ok for any of you who run a MTD with the footrests that have all the holes in the footboards....I'm looking for the Black replacement adheisive non skid pads that go with these footrests. Not the RUBBER pads but the adheisive ones that also has all the holes in them to match to metal footboards. The part number I found was 723-0422  I just want to make sure this is the one that has the holes in it and not just a solid pc. of nonskid adehiesive tape without the holes. Any of you MASTER minds of MTD would love your help here!! Thanks Darrin!!

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / "New" Arc 31 OHV AVS flywheel hub??
« on: May 17, 2009, 11:39:40 pm »
Does anyone know where the best spot to set up the new "updated" OHV single Hub for the flywheel? Since dad broke so many cranks and ARC said that the "standard" 28 flathead and 31 OHV flywheels were too far advanced for the new "31 AVS motors" even at all the way negative. Just got the new hub and with it all the way + it lines up almost where the old hub was all the way -   Has anyone used the new hubs yet and experimented with them to see what worked the best for a starting point? Thanks!

Tires / why only metal wheels allowed?
« on: March 02, 2009, 02:49:44 pm »
I 've been wondering this question for a long time and notice this rule is listed in both ARMA and USLMRA rulebooks. Stating wheels must be of metal only. Wondering why carbon fiber wheels wouldn't be allowed as well? They are lighter and stronger than metal. Searched the posts for a reasoning but couldn't find any. Any light on this question would be much appreciated.

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Piston Measurements
« on: January 18, 2007, 10:43:21 pm »
Ok I guees when I can't find the answer on my computer that's when it's time to let the mad men of the Internet take charge and see what they can find. What I'm looking for are 2 dimensions of 2 pistons.
Measurement 1- wrist pin to top of piston
Measurement 2- wrist pin to the top ring of the piston
I want to find those measurements for both piston number 697552 and piston 698371. They are both 31 pistons. I could just buy the pistons then measure but I'd be willing to bet many of you have books or the knowledge of just BOTH pistons laying around and could measure them up.  Any info will be appreciated, thanks in advance, Darrin.
