Tires / Re: I need more traction too lol

Turf masters i have my seat moved back as far as i can go i might have too try too put some weight over the axle and soak my tires in trac tach all winter and see if that helps at all.

How much air are you running in them?  If your spinning quit a bit then if you get your tires to soft from tire prep then you'll burn them up real quick.  Unless you have money to keep buying tires then that's what I'd worry about.  Try running them with less air but not real low to where your tires roll over.

Go to a bigger tire less likely to spin..

Or go to higher ratio (lower number) gearing...go to where engine "lugs" and then down just slightly fom there run the power band...before slippage

A gear ratio is a ratio.  The higher the ratuio the more rpms your going to turn and less top speed.  Hence the higher the ratio then the more your going to spin.  You want to go to a lower ratio which will give you more top end (more speed) in the long run.  If you have your motors dyno'd then pick your rpm you want to hit then gear from there.
Remember you can have the biggest baddest motor at the track but if you can't get the power to the track then your going no where.

Goat Pee wastes a tire.  I wouldn't recommend it.  Get a really good tire conditioner like VJ or Track Tacs Tire Tuff Mint and prep once a week with them.  If your spinning then you prolly need to change your gear.

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Re: ARC Rods. Any problems?
« on: January 24, 2010, 06:19:39 pm »
We run our motors up around 8000-10,000 rpms and we replace the rod bolts every few races (once a month).  That way your always checking the rod, bushing, bearings, etc...  It's better to pay $8 rather then the cost of you motor.

We have one nasty GX390 that we kart race with.  All billet.  Saving up for a billet head for it.  Gonna be nice!

Drag Mowers / Re: carb

When we race karts we use around a .048-.060 drilled jet for straight alky.  I know the stock gas jet is like .030.  Hope that helps.

Briggs Flathead / Re: Arc flywheel?
« on: October 25, 2009, 02:38:26 pm »
I race open go karts with billet flywheels (motors pushing 50+ hp) and I have never not once had a billet flywheel tear apart. We use the ARC adjustable flywheels on all our pro-stock and open motors on methanol.
