I just picked up a Peerless Model 730a under that it says 10101555. Can anyone tell me anything about it. I've been googling my butt off and can't find anything on it. It is a 5 speed and came off a Bolen 2028. Any help would be appreciated very much. Thanks Tommy

Fired up twice by bridging post on solenoid, with all ignition switch wires hangin.put new ignit on and now the solenoid juat clicks once.tryied jumping solenoid ,she keeps spinning but wont fire up

Did you try jumping it with the new plug unplugged.. Could be the wrong ignition switch.. Hard to diagnose on a forum..

I just dropped my heads off at the machine shop to be milled. I went with .080 just by reading stuff on hear. Any ideas on how much of a compression bump that is? I did not cc them before I dropped them off like I should have. Is .080 good or should I call and change it?

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Intek 21hp v-twin build questions..
« on: April 01, 2017, 01:21:26 am »
I have a 21hp Intek v-twin 407777. I want to build it to have some reasonable horsepower. I'm actually a small engine mechanic at an industrial mower, fork truck, generators and many other things. I've never done a performance build though. So far I have the motor tore down, removed the governor. I got a complete gasket and bolt set and 2 new coils. From reading on here I believe you guys are saying mill .085 off the heads. I know I need valve springs but I am not sure if I've found the right ones or not.  https://eccarburetors.com/estore/260-ec-valve-spring-set.html?category_id=276 these are the ones I think I need. I need to know which keepers and locks I need to go with them. I know which rods and flywheel I need. I can't seem to find a cam, I don't think they are making them for the Intek 40's someone please help me there. Maybe any other suggestions anyone may have? It's just a personal project so no sanctioning bodies I have to abide by.. Sorry for the long post. I have been reading other's posts but most Intek stuff is old news. Thanks in advance, Tommy. One more thing. If any parts that will help me that I can get from briggs, I get them at cost.
