Driveline / Re: MCP brake setup questions
« on: September 20, 2012, 10:33:22 pm »
i tried that same setup few years back, my biggest problem was getting enough leverage or pull on the master cylinder to make the brakes work good, to do over i would use the handlebar mounted master cylinder, if you look in the build section, Squidd used a set-up like that on his fx build!

thats exactly what we did up here, it was alot of work to run a track and a club, me and my partner in crime did it, sure miss the good times we had, but dont miss the responsibility of keeping the track up and all the racers happy.... ;)

we used to have a local chapter up here, about 2 1/2 north of you. but due to lack of interest we decided to call it quits, maybe in the future we can do something again, some of the new goverened classes might bring some interest such as mod-xr, little cheaper to build, just have to see!

i never had any problems shifting from 2nd to 3rd, had to lots when pacing around the track before the flag dropped, course i used the clutch, and never even attempted to down shift after the race, that will for sure kill the shift keys!!

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Re: ohv 28 flywheel key
« on: July 12, 2012, 12:39:31 am »
as others have said, if you properly lap the hub to the crank taper you dont need a key at all, the key is there to properly time the ignition, if you like to play around with timing, lap the hub to the crank, torque it properly and ditch the key, i have never ran a key with stock or billet wheels and never had an issue.... ;)
