Title: Peerless 930
Post by: snaponmower729 on August 20, 2007, 12:27:50 am
I have a peerless 930 series transaxle and I plan on putting it behind a 14 ohv briggs and I was wondering if this transaxle would hold up?

Probably not... if you plan on putting any HP or serious rpm to it...

Maybe, if it's in a stock or goverened class...

How do you plan on running it..?

I plan on using it in a governed class. I also have a foote five speed and was planning on using it in a governed class also and I was wondering if it would hold up too.

In a governed class like IMOW you should be fine. We have used the 930 and the only problem we encounter was a broken snap ring on the input shaft.
I was concerned with the 3/4" axles when we moved the tires out to the 38" allowed by our rules but so far so good. Of course I only weigh in at about 170lbs.
I don't know to much about the foote but I suspect it would work fine as well in the slower classes.
