« on: September 21, 2009, 09:25:30 pm »
I have a 16hp vanguard v-twin and I am courious what it would take to mount the motor in a vertical orientation. I am aware that I will need to change the carb but I need to know what is different internally if anything. Thanks

yeah i notice when i went back out to the garage that the countershaft runs the oil pump. so i cant really take it out, also i noticed that the pushrods were steel in my engine. I ended up having my cam reground by percisoion cams, i got stronger valve springs and retainers, roller rockers, a billet rod and flywheel, and a new piston. I think that sums up what i did i hope it will be a mean engine!!!!
thank you for all the help though

I am rebuilding my kholer cammand 14hp ohv and i was wondering if it would be a good idea to take the the balance counter wieght out of the engine or would this be detremental to the performance of the engine?

I have 17.5 hp enduro and when I tore the motor down it has two jackshafts in it. They have wieghts on them and my question is can I remove these to free up some spinning mass, and if I do would I have to get my crank balaned?

Tecumseh Engines / What carb?
« on: November 03, 2007, 10:33:36 pm »
What size of tillotson carb should I use on my 17.5 hp motor to make it pull through the whole rpm range because I race on a road course style track and I am constantly slowing down and speeding up.

Would it be possible to remove the balancers and send the crank in and get it balanced to avoid this problem?

What do you mean by that I run one and it is a good motor for me but I am racing a road course style track. I don't if it is any good for circle tracks though.
