Post by: truckintyler on August 13, 2019, 03:20:53 pm
Any issues with the ARC flywheel ring gear when installed on the  Kohler command twin ?

Are you having issues? Other than checking engagement I had no issues.

No issues , just pulled the trigger on a new flywheel for the command twin , just wanted to know if they have issues with the teeth being aluminum and starter teeth being steel .

I haven't had issues, I'm not sure if anyone offers a steel ring gear either? You will also need a diode harness for the Briggs coils that get used with the flywheel, I took one off an intek, if you do a search you can find the exact diode number necessary. Will not run without it, unless you use two tethers.

Yes I figured I needed the diode harness.

Are the stock hydraulic lifters good on a stock non-governed engine or swap them out for solid lifters and adjustable rockers ?

I have solid lifters and adjustable rockers in mine, but it’s far from stock.
