Have the exact same mower, but different color has 350 to. Putting an opposed on it, live axle to. Adjustable front axle, was wondering if the band brake would be good for this? Fairly light and the motor pretty much stock. I was planning to get a new band for it
It also says mtd  lawnflite on hood

Did you try changing the wires? Id make the wires as short as possible, but enough that they have slack and arent tight.

I also agree with this, heck Sprint cars dont have an age limit, theirs 13 year olds driving 800hp cars! :omg:  It should be based on the amount of skill you have, if you can drive safley and up to speed then you should be able to drive

Driveline / 350 (Im stumped)
« on: December 19, 2010, 05:05:22 pm »
I have my peerless all rebuilt with bearings and seals, its together the way the diagram shows(with reverse removed).
Heres the problem, it will shift into all gears but with only ingage into two of the 3 gears possible(reverse removed).

I dont know the shift pattern but here is what i found
Forward and to the left is 3 to 1
Forward to the right it just spins the input
Back to the right is about 6.3 to 1
Back to the left it just spins on the input.

I cant figure out why it will only engage in them two gears and nothing more. Any suggestions?

Personally a Valve job is what ever it takes to get a motor running be it a simple lapping or complete replacement of seats and valves. Its simply a matter of opinion when in reality its simply whatever it takes to do the job. NO MATTER HOW SIMPLE OR HOW COMPLICATED. Its a valve job. You working on valves and its a job!!! THUS a valve JOB!!
Agree +1
