Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Re: starting problem with solenoid or ?
« Last post by Negrey on Today at 12:37:54 PM »
Why did the ignition switch need to be replaced? Check you have all the wires making a good connection on the new switch. Disconnect the little wire on the starter solenoid and check that it has good power when the ignition switch is held in the start position. If you have good power then it's likely the starter solenoid failed. With the little wire still disconnected from the starter solenoid you can try temporarily jumping power to the small terminal and if it happens to crank your solenoid is functioning.

Mower Engines & Parts / Re: New ARC Aluminum flywheel Briggs
« Last post by outlaw puller on Today at 05:49:46 AM »
I'm not a racer but do u know if the flywheel can have a drive hub bolted to it for the clutch on a cub cadet? I pull and I have a Midwest super cub steel flywheel but need another flywheel and the only thing I can get now is aluminum. Also is it adjustable? Building a vanny and plan to turn it we'll over 10,000 if I can, thanks

Hello, do u still have the rods? And are they still for sale? I need a set .100" longer than stock. I have been running performance v twin rods but I've have 2 engines go down due to the bearing gualding up, so I am wanting to get some ARC rods since they are like the command rods and have bearing inserts.

Changed ignition switch and when I turn switch solenoid just clicks once and that's it, but I can take a wrench and touch both poles and it  starts up .does this mean solenoid is bad?

I would think you would need the slinger to oil the valve train.

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / 33ci AVS oil slinger?
« Last post by Tom Price on June 23, 2017, 12:58:03 PM »
This engine is a full pressure line engine, drilled through the crank to oil top and bottom journal as well as the rod journal.  Anyone ever take the slinger out being it is pressure lubed?  Would there be any advantage as far as less drag on engine?

That will depend on your ability to jet and adjust that carb.
