Are the heads any different between the 40-44-49 ci models?

Will they all fit eachother without adverse compression issues?

That was one of my biggest concerns. From what I've seen, the cam gears on the 44ci are spoked, and the 40ci have a solid cam gear, so I thought they were different.

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / 40ci question

Ok, so here is my problem.

The bolt for the intake rocker on head #2 has stripped out it's 2nd set of heli coils.

I got 2 options as far as I see it.

Door number one: Buy a head + gasket for about $80, swap everything over, back running in an afternoon.

Door number two: Buy a 44ci intek for $150 and swap what I can over. Question is what will swap over directly between the two?
Here's what is in the 40:
G-team cam
Billet flywheel
ec carb
Billet rods
e.c pushrods and retainers/valvesprings

I would be willing to lay down some coin for a stronger engine, and I know theres no replacement for displacement. But the 40 is a strong little motor that revs up really good.   Would swapping to a 44ci have that huge of a difference in power? Are the power characteristics any different?

I'm leaning towards the 44ci for future big bore plans though....

make sure that the flywheel doesn't have any defects in it, or that the crank doesnt have any play in the bearings. If the clearances between the flywheel and the generator are constantly fluctuating due to bad bearings, then the whole electrical system will over charge and you will keep blowing coils until it is fixed.

You are in my prayers too.

Not trying to be funny but I would personally go to town on my house with a caulking gun, if you know it's coming, you might as well try to make your house as waterproof as possible.

I just got the casio g'zone brigade, and I love it!

It meets military requirements for ruggedness

The chain has maybe a half pound of tension on it, I didn't clean the bushings, I got new ones from E.C. and just took em out of the bag and installed them.

And how would someone go about machining the cases to accept the bearings? And where would I be able to buy the bearings?

It is spring tensioned, with a good sized spring, but not too tight.

What would cause my mower to completely eat through and burn up the bronze bushing on the output shaft?

I have the reinforced cases from E.C.-now they are toast

I was running 80w-90 oil, and it was filled up to the correct amount.

I am also running a built twin, and is it possible that I'm just running too much power through the tranny?

Is there a way that I could improve on the bronze bushing thing?? Maybe needle bearings?  Or thinner oil to help the bushings out?

Stock new head gaskets and valve oil seals, and lapped valves and seats

Ive been looking at increasing the compression on my motor a little bit, and I'm wondering if my stock crank and pistons will be able to handle the extra load without grenading.

I have the arc rods, and arc flywheel, e.c springs and retainers, e.c pushrods, gteam cam, and ported heads.

Would I need to look into balancing the crank? Or some sort of ceramic pistons or such?

What would be a safe amount to shave the heads?

I would like to be able ot run the motor off of premium, because I found non ethanol 93 octane in town,
