Briggs OHV & Vanguard / billet flywheel
« on: November 24, 2013, 09:33:21 pm »
as far as I can find, arc and ec are the only ones to offer a billet flywheel. my question, are they actually different products or does arc make them all and sell them through other companies? if not is either better than the other? and why

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Turbo intek project
« on: November 20, 2013, 12:10:01 pm »
As the title states, I'm working on a turbo setup for an intek twin. First off the engine has only 40 hours on it so it's basically just broke in, I got a new set of 49 rods for it and a complete gasket set and I'm about ready to open the motor up . I have a couple questions while I'm in there though. Mainly valve train concerns. Although it's a pretty small turbo I may have to turn it 6-7k to get well into boost . I'm only hoping for 4-5 psi but I'm not sure how it's gonna go. I know there's plenty of good cams out there but most are n/a and have a good bit of overlap which is not good for boosted engines. So I have two main questions, can I stock with the stock cam and use  1.5 or 1.6 rockers to get mods lift and be able to squeeze 6k out of it? Or is there a place that does custom grinds for a reasonable cost? I'm just tinkering around with it for fun so I don't want to dump tons of money into it but at the se time I don't want to skimp and not work out right. I'm also in need of a billet flywheel if anyone is looking to unload one.
