Driveline / front chain idler question on vtwin

On my horizontal vanny i was wondering if my clutch chain could be stable with an idler sprocket and a bolt and nut on a slotted piece of flat stock,or.....does it have to have a idler with a spring to let the chain give??

So i set my new carb and throttle bracket all up on my horizontal vanguard and the cable comes directly from under the carb and pulls strait down,my question is,i need some ideas for the return springs,seem like no matter how i set them up just to try it,they keep binding up,i know they cant pull straight back so i have them pullin at a little angle,doesnt seem to work to well

Ok so im running a horizontal 16 hp vanny with a two barrel and some internal work,spins about 4500 rpm,i run 8" rears and am using a 6:1 gearing
15 to 30 then 16 to 48
Im using the noram star with a 15 tooth but i ordered a new clutch and its a 16 tooth,i can use my 15 tooth drum but my main question is....will the 16 tooth drum help me more or less on the track? Its a 1/8 mile oval
or would i be better just using the 15? And also have questions about springs too

Does anyone know who sells good exhaust gaskets for the vanguard 16 hp heads? Looking for something better then the graphoil ones,and do u know a part number if its other then the stock ones?

Ok so im trying to set this carb up by turning the elbow around,this isnt permanent yet just a mock up. I think somethings not right though. Please help

Chassis / steering help PLEASE!!!!

Ok on my steering im running a chain set up,my issue is that once the pitman arm moves to full turn,my steering wheel only turns like less than a quarter turn. Should i run the same size sprocket on bottom as the top to make it a 1:1 ratio? The top is a 15 tooth and the bottom is a 20. I want to get at least a half a turn left and right

Ok on my 30ci vanny im running a race prepped two barrel with an adjustable main jet on bottom,my issue is that when the carb and intake is all on,the main jet hangs so low that its right above the flywheel and once i put the blower housing on i cant get in there to adjust the jet,the only way i can adjust it is test run it with the blower housing off and set it then i can put it all back together,this is not right there has to be another way to adjust this carb

Im tryin to set up a bell crank style linkage on a horizontal vanny with a 2 barrel carb,i ran a single barrel before but the linkage is different on the two barrel,and ideas and pics will really help

Is it usually better to go a bigger or smaller sprocket on a longer track? Spinning about 4500 rpm and running a 15 to 30 then 16 to 48 tooth final

So im building my 35ci and running a 30ci crank,long rods and 40ci intek flat tops,should i order some of the 1/4 steel comp cam cut to length push rods again or is there a better set out there? And who like the ec long rods and who likes the pvt long rods? What ones are better quality
