Honda and Clone Engines / Throttle cable qestion
« on: June 18, 2015, 12:08:17 am »
I am looking for a throttle cable for my tillotson carb on my clone motor. I am running a hand throttle but the cable holder on the carb only works with the bigger diameter cable. A regular bike cable like we usually run. I need info on where to get a cable with the ball on the end to fit in the hand throttle but it has to have the bigger thicker casing.

They are made by a professional. There are numerous members in our club using the same spindles and have no problems. Including the gut who builds them. But if I had to guess yes they are made with grade 8 hardware.

Chassis / I need spindle help
« on: August 08, 2013, 09:51:54 pm »
Ok everyone here it goes. I built a GP over the winter and it turned out great. The problem I am having is that I keep bending the left front spindle. When I say keep bending I mean that I have bent three o them already. I bent the first one on a practice track. I thought that maybe I hi something or it was just to rough. So I put a brand new spindle on and took it around the yard maybe 100 feet on smooth grass and it bent again. I have a fully adjustable front end and it steers very nice when the spindle isn't bent. I had two nylon spacers behind the hub. Both times it bent it was in between the spacers. My solution to the problem was to put a steel spacer on. It worked well and got me through a double race weekend. But in the grudge match while screwing around it bent again. In our club there are many people running this same setup with the nylon spacers and they have had no problems. Not to mention they are running this setup on SP's and BP's with lots more power than my little GP. No one can figure out what the problem could be so I am turning to all you guys out there for some ideas. Its only the left front spindle that bends the right front is just fine. Any help or ideas would be great.

Driveline / Sprockets for 700 trannys
« on: May 26, 2013, 11:27:59 pm »
Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone had information on where to order sprockets for a 700 transmission. I have already looked at EC and they only offer sprockets up to 18 teeth. I a looking for something around 22 - 24. Also looked through all the links and did not see anything in there. Any help would be great.

Sorry Tazz no pics yet but I will try and get some. Cyclone is that up to snuff on US rules or does the motor have to be in the original position.

Chassis / MTD Chassis Help
« on: March 25, 2013, 10:29:51 am »
Hey everyone I need a little help with my build. I am building for the SP class and using an MTD frame. The original mower came with a 12 hp Briggs in it. I just noticed it yesterday that the motor sits to the right side of the engine compartment. Is this going to be ok or should I have used a chassis with a centered motor. I am about half way done with my build so I really hope that I didn't screw this up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Racing Mower Builds / Re: George's NEW BUILD for 07
« on: March 06, 2013, 11:41:46 pm »
Hey George I am building an MTD for the SP class following your build. This is my first time building a racing mower. My mower came with the two small rear fenders that get bolted on each side. I personally don't like the look of them. If I found a set or MTD rear fenders that are one piece will they bolt right up to my frame or are they completely different.

Driveline / Clutch Question???
« on: March 04, 2013, 12:43:54 am »
I am building my first mower and am building for the SP class. The tractor I am building is a MTD pretty much like Georges 07 build but with the small separate bolt on fenders on both sides. I have seen the clutch kit from E.C. but was wondering if there is another option for a clutch. Is there a tractor that has a good clutch that works well in these machines or is the only option is to have an aftermarket part
