Not able to send pic at this time and may be approaching this project with the wrong equipment. The transaxle I have isn't the one that came with the mower, but the bolt pattern is the same. Murry chasis . As I mentioned it is a peerless 800 series and I have locked the axles.
The  intent is a drag mower. Rims are 7" tall by 6" regular mower rims. There is only 1/2 inch of axle exposed between inner hub and transaxle housing. The original rotor is only 3" tall with a splined shaft. My other two mowers are built to A/P specs, so I don,t have any transaxle experience. I am not familiar with what "hood" means.
I really appreciate your trying to help.

Peerless 800 series transmission. Where do you put the brake rotor. There isn't enough room on the axle between the tire rim and the transmission case.
Thank You

When the Briggs V Twins are used for racing, do they retain the two into one  exhaust system?

Driveline / To shift or not
« on: March 25, 2019, 12:12:15 pm »
I posted this in the Drag section and had 186 views, but no answers. Hoping someone could help here.
I have a Peerless 800 series transmission and will use it in a drag mower.
My question is what gear do the drag mowers start in, and do they shift more than once?
Thank You

Driveline / Peerless 800 axle

My Peerless 800 series transaxle has only 4 inches of axle sticking out of each side of the transmission. I have already locked the axles. I have heard there is a longer axle available, but would like to use what I have. Will a deep off set rim extend the width enough to make it useable for racing? Maybe CP or CPR.

Briggs Flathead / Walbro 56 carb
« on: October 20, 2017, 03:23:31 pm »
Went through my carb parts box and found I have two Walbro 56 carbs and one 48. I also have the EC high end needle kit. Removed the choke butterfly and shaft. Checked out the Walbro 56 search function and found several comments on this carb, but most answers are several years old. EC declined to comment on how much to drill out the tube when you add the new needle. Some one suggested 5/64th. Any new information on mods for this carb?
Thanks

Yes, I am talking about top towards the rear, and my EC Distributing axle was more like 10 degrees and not 12 as I posted. Thank you Redline
