Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Re: 24hp ELS carb and coil question

My experience. I run a intek twin, and have used coils of vanys, and singles with success. The stock intek carbs can be played with. personally I went with the ec dominator have had very good luck with it makes good power too...

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Re: how to loosen bolts on billet flywheel
« on: April 01, 2015, 09:37:12 pm »
take an allen socket and an old extension put the allan on the extension amd into the bolt. wack it with a hammer and then turn it. if that doesn't work use a soldering iron and heat up the bolt with it that will weaken the Loctite

Driveline / Re: Ec 700 series worth it?
« on: March 10, 2015, 10:19:11 pm »
The trans to get is a peerless  700-139, this is set up from the factory for what we are doing with them. I had an ec 700 for about 15 laps and it ate itself went to the peerless and its still going strong well worth the extra money  :woo:

I have been using the ec billet ones http://eccarburetors.com/store/en/precision-mower-accessories/front-axle-kits-parts/spindles.html have only had them bend but I welded axle spacers to them after I straightend them have had no issues sense

Coffee Shop / Re: My First Build going BIG

Its all personal preference for engine in my opinion. I run an briggs intek twin and I race with guys that have over twice the money in there kohlers and Indians than what I have in my briggs and I can out motor them most of the time. then again only off the shelf performance parts I have in mine are con rods everything else is custom built by myself. im not saying a kohler is a bad engine by any means. if you know what you are doing any brand engine can perform well.
