Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Carrier performance new website!
« on: February 21, 2017, 07:51:53 pm »
After a lot of thinking we have decided to make a website to buy high performance V twin stuff. No one sells stuff to help people build national competitive engines so we decided to offer high Horsepower parts. Here is our new website, browse our parts and tell your friends :) check in often we will constantly be adding new parts to the site.  If the moderators or website owner could add this to the links page that would be great thanks :)

INTEK 49 PISTONS ARE NOW AVAILABLE! For all those wanting billet intek 49 pistens well here they are, these pistons came out 14 grams lighter than stock and have all the same features that our vanguard pistons have. They are made for a drop in fit with ARC 4.5'' rods.

Not sure what you are wanting to know or what you want to do so I will give you some general information. You are on the right path but if you are you using the model 35 heads you are making no more than 45-50hp max even ported. Same goes for the stock intake it is the limiting factor. With a good cam, ported model 38 heads custom intake and a solid engine foundation (pistons rods springs etc) you can make 60-80 hp your wallet will limit you check out: facebook.com/carrierperformance and carrierperformance.net for all you vanguard needs

Mill the head, disconnect governor (aluminum flywheel needed), advance timing, gas port the piston, polish the crank to remove windage, olish the rod, stiffen valve springs, ......... there are a few shade tree tricks

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Re: Looking for valves
« on: February 11, 2017, 07:59:28 pm »
I am currently building a 33 ohv head. We have to make a custom ss 1.250 exhaust valve stock replacement since no one seems to make em. If you want one I can make you one. Check Carrier performance on facebook. Btw he already had a 1.650 intake valve. for the reccord this is way too big for no reason. the intake runner is currently 1.200 diameter and we will enlarge it to about 1.250-1.300 but this is the max .... man these heads are crap

the same numbers should also be cast inside the block near the crank bearing (not the pan the block) and also in the heads beside the rocker arm assembly but some engines (pretty rare) dont have the numbers cast in the heads though i dont know why, easiest way to identify a 14-20 hp vanguard that doesnt have any id tag is to pop a valve cover and check the casting number 30-35, the 38 vanguard heads are cast differntly on the outside near the exhaust flange so those are easy to identify hope this helps

Coffee Shop / Re: In Memory of George "SUPERMAN" Herrin.
« on: August 22, 2016, 11:08:58 pm »
Thats an awesome story Paul :) George had the funniest, most blunt/truthful but yet most loving personality. I, like yourself haven't spoken since the news hit me. I still don't believe it.. :( a watery eyed weekend to say the least. My story isnt really a story but more like a short simple memory that i will always remember. It happened last november at the all American when i met him in person for the first time, though we regularly talked on facebook and on the phone we had never met in person, during that weekend it rained a lot, i believe it was saturday that we didnt race. At the end of the day (or the beginning i dont remeber exact details) Justin took out his new radio controlled late model car. I was talking with him when he got it and all i remember him saying is "whoooo heeee! man i can do a lot of cheatin' in thay little engine!" I smiled and yelled out "It aint cheating till you get caught!" he yelled back "AMEN BROTHER!!" man i was grinning from ear to ear we spent a couple hourse just talking after that, it was like George had a way to intantly make friends :)

Coffee Shop / Need a little help for a friend in need
« on: March 07, 2016, 05:32:41 pm »
Hi everyone, i have never posted in coffee shop before but I have a friend who needs as much help as he can get. One of my best friends and fellow lawn mower racer up here in canada recently lost everything he owns in a house fire. It is a situation that none of us would like to be in and i am trying to help him out as much as i can. I am taking donations through a Facebook page for those that feel generous. :) Do not feel obligated to donate, no one has to! I am just trying to help a good friend in need. Thanks in advance for those that will donate :) every little amount helps!

Send a message through this Facebook page and i will send the paypal adress

When it comes to flatheads, flow comes before compression
