It's been years since I have been on a mower. Teasing Rooster about his boat anchors. :censored: off George was also a favorite past time. I miss the days of shooting my mouth off during the week just  to get beat on the weekend.   I do still hear from what's left of the "Deere herd".  I dont Facebook so no sense getting on there.  Me thinks the old days are just that "the old days" Merry Christmas everyone!

Bert was director the same time I was. Had a few colorful conversations and enjoyed him and his wit. I will fondly miss him :(

Different width rims too. Air pressure was maybe 25 on right rear for a loose track surface or up to 40 psi on a hard clay track and 2lbs on left rear

Stacey Crowl, of Jarrettsville, MD, died at the age of 48 on October 5, 2016 at her home. She was born in Baltimore, MD to Elaine (McCubbin) Ryan and the late Burton Schafer. She taught in the Baltimore County Public Schools for 25 years, and helped create and run the American Racing Mower Association (ARMA). She was a very caring person who always put others first, enjoyed racing lawnmowers, and watching the Ravens play football.

In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband of 25 years, Aaron Crowl; her twin daughters, Alicia and Ashley Crowl; and her brother, Brian Schafer.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Instead of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the ALS Foundation of MD/DC/VA, ALS Association of Greater Philadelphia, or to the RAACE Foundation at www.raace.org.

We ran both for years and I didn't notice any difference between the two. If you have a multi mower team I would probably build them all the same just so you don't have to carry too many extra parts.

Cornering is all about weight distribution.  This has been discussed here many times. Snoop around especially in the older posts and look at some of the build's that have been done.

See if your local fire company, rescue squad, Rotary, Masonic lodge, school.... has something going on, ask if you can bring a couple mowers and have a demo race.Talk to your local media, get that cute weather gal on a mower. Better yet, get the local media people on some super stocks and have a race. Have your police chief race the fire chief. Some of the silliest ideas have surprising results. Have George in a wet tee shirt contest. Have Rooster drag a boat anchor around.... never mind... He does that already :bash:

Coffee Shop / Re: 3/4" internal bearings for front hubs?
« on: June 24, 2014, 01:54:47 pm »
That's cuz all Georges weight is over the drives  I made over 50 front axles with 3/4 grade 8 bolts and never had a failure but had bearing failure.  There's some place this guy (his name escapes me) works has all sorts of goodies for go karts and mowers. I have seen ceramic bearings online for $100.  I still have 3/4 bearings in my tool box if I ever build another one.

I do have change for a Drachma. Do you want two Triobols, three Diobols, or six Obols?
