S/P is a modified flathead single cylinder on a prepared chassis and a G/P is a STOCK single cylinder with a governer on a prepared chassis with any gear ratio you desire.  (Like an IMOW but no gear ratio rule)

That build will cover most prepared class mowers with a few adjustments.  Your Craftsman may not be identical but the theories are the same.  As far as building for B/P just be warned that some, if not most clubs will not let you race B/P until you have some experience in a lower hp class.  I have been racing an S/P for a few years and still wouldn't consider myself ready for that kind of power.

Go to the build section and read the one titled "George's New Build for 07" that is a great place to start, especially if your free mower is any type of MTD.

Which Kendas exactly?  I was considering a set of super turfs also.

Post season update as promised;

Ran three points races this year on a set of mowkus on my SP.  They wear very well but other than that I havent been real impressed.  The treads look good as far as shape but they are VERY shallow.  Also,  the tires are very round when looking at the cross section, with no definate edge to the tread and a very narrow contact patch on the face.  On the last track we were on,  every corner they would either slip or bite way to much and it would bicycle.  I tried for 35 laps to find the sweet spot and never did.  All in all, I will probably switch to pro-tecs from cheng shin or turf masters if santa is real generous.  Note,  That I dont have a ton of racing experiance but enough to know that there are better tires out there.

USLMRA Races / Re: 2011 USLMRA RULE BOOK FINAL DRAFT...REALLY!

Can you legally modify a hood by US rules?  I have the MTD hood with all the louvers and was wondering if I could cut the louvers out and make the hood smooth.  That is a lot of wasted space that is really valuable for sponsorships.

Or cut it off and have it drilled and tapped for a bolt.

Briggs Flathead / Re: 11hp head on 12.5 briggs

If your looking for an 11 hp head the model # should start with 25.  Model 19 is an 8 horse.

You are probably thinking an AVS piston which is what you use with the ARC billet rod.  I don't know, but I think the billet rod may match the dimensions of the Ohv rod.

Other Interesting Builds / Re: building a hauler.

My brother-in-law gave me a 20 ft trailer house frame in exchange for me rebuilding the slop gate in his manure spreader.  I have been debating on how to build it.  My first thought was to just sheet the deck and add lights.  Then I got to thinking that it would be nice to have it enclosed but I have a welding shop and it is kinda a pain to load steel into enclosed trailers.  So now I am thinking of either an awesome snowmobile trailer style flatbed and ad cabinets and an aluminum skirt, or should I figure out some type of soft sided enclosed where the sides will slide.   Which of these would you all find more useful and versatile?

That should be heavy enough.  Just make sure you space them 12 to 16 inches apart or so to support the weight.  I assume that the plywood is on the interior? Put one leg of the angle flat on the plywood in my opinion.

Water is still rising. The army corp of engineers is still releasing record amounts of water.  They have more that doubled the previous record release from lake oahe, which is down stream from Don.  All the dams on the missouri are like this throughout north and south Dakota.  It is gonna be a long summer for a lot of good people.

Driveline / Re: what is this brake?

My 55 chevy truck has a band brake on the tranny output as an E brake/ park brake.  I took it to my local auto value and they relined it with fiber brake pad material.  If I remember right it was under 20$.
