I don't know. Maybe if it was recognized by both groups here in Wisconsin and if there were a good amount of them to run against. I have access to a nice stock Tecumseh twin.

Okay because the Wisconsin group is advertising it and racing it as a group this next year. But I'm not building one if I can't take it to nationals

Where did you see it advertised? I just looked on the wilmra fb page and site, nothing there.

Personally I wouldn't change much to the engine. Freshen it up and go. Its ran the best that I have ever seen it run.

Are you hitting the governor at the end of the straight away or way before it. Gear it to hit the gov just before the corner. I just put your pulley/sprocket info in the ec distributing technical mower speed page. you are at 6.875 to 1. The last track I ran on that had a 100 ft straightaway I was right around 6.5-6.6 to 1 ratio in 3rd or 25-25 gear set in a 700 series trans. I was hitting the gov just before the corner. This setup seemed to work good for me. As for the studder, sorry I cant help you there. Maybe carb issue?

Of all the reading I have seen on here about transaxles the only ones that are good for racing are peerless 820 and 600 series. Some racers use these. Most racers use a 700 series transmission and live axle set up.

You can also use an old flat blade screwdriver and cut a slot in it. That's what I use.

Chassis / Re: Wheel base Vs width

Sounds about right bert. I couldn't remember all the details on dirt cars. I wasn't into dirt racing until I got into mower racing. Most of my car racing experience was with asphalt cars.

I had read once in a stock car racing chassis book that a longer wheel base was better for dirt racing and a shorter wheel base was better for asphalt racing. Not sure if there was any truth to it. And of course that was stock car racing not mower racing.

I wish I had another set of tires. I would stud them up. That looks like fun.

I just put your gearing info in the ec distributing technical site and you have a 4.21 gear ratio. When I raced gp and had my tach mounted on the machine. I noticed that my rpms never got over 3570 on the track up against the governor, would hit 3640-3650 sitting still in the pits. I wouldn't be so worried about the 3650 on the track. Get it geared so when you get to the end of the straight away your up to governed speed. Hope this helps
