Post your Pics! / 2018 Season Pictures

With my mower torn down for some improvements, thought it would be the appropriate time to post some good pictures of racing last season. The 2019 racing season is approaching quickly!

Briggs Flathead / Dense Heavy Duty Starters - Part numbers that work?
« on: September 29, 2016, 07:28:52 pm »
Hi everyone, Looking to purchase a Denso starter for my flathead build. I have found multiple starters on Ebay for good prices but am not positive that they will work with the ARC flywheel.

Any help or info is appreciated! A starter I'm looking at has the part number 806448. If this one will work, let me know!

Thanks

The Proving Grounds is a great spot, I will be racing there this year in MXR!

Prove it Mower Racing on Facebook is directly mower racing, but the 4X4 Proving Grounds Facebook page is the whole facility.

Hope to see you there!

Driveline / Re: 1" Rear Axle Pros/Cons

Most everyone is going to say go with 1 1/4" axle. I have run the 1" in a BP for 4 seasons with no issues. Many have bent them. I have also bent 1 1/4" axle in my supermod. I wouldn't change unless I tore something up bad. If you needed parts at a race, most will have extra parts for 1 1/4".

Okay Thanks for the Response!

I think Ill stick to a 1" Axle.  :D

Driveline / 1" Rear Axle Pros/Cons

Hey guys, I'm running a 1" axle in my Mod-XR and was wanting some input.

I've competed in two races and everything has been great, no problems.

So I was wondering if I would be okay moving up to a class like SP with the 1" axle?

Thanks-
Nico

It is Factory Experimental Single

Would be interesting to see on the track, but I'm not sure its legal.

You might be a mower racer if.. Every time you pass a mower on the side of the road you think, "that looks like a stiff chassis.. No rust.."

Are you looking to use a kart axle? If so BMI karts is cheap and will have what you need. as for your engine.. I'd stick to lawn mower engines, in my opinion its part of what sets a racing lawn mower, apart from a gokart. But if you want easy speed and less modification than a dirt bike or sled engine is good to use, not in an association like ARMA (what I race in) and USLMRA of course but it would work on your course with your buddies.

Best of luck, im here to help if you have questions!

Im right in Durham NH, and there really aren't many tracks for dirt in NH but there are a couple in ME and the SLMRA in STrafford NH is the only ice racing around! Good luck with your build, hope you and your friends have fun on your ice course.

Not sure about local rules, but I'm not sure you can run an Opposed Twin in the Super Stock Class. I dont think they allow twins until the Mod X Class...
