Racing Mower Builds / Re: Outlaw French Power !

a word of advice. I have shattered those plastic fans at rpms above 6500 back in the day before billet wheels were available.

Oh yes... I can remember one exploding in my lap on my FX...  Never thought I would stand up on a mower before, but the fan let lose and hit me in my lap and I sang in a higher note for a little bit.

Never trusted those things after that!

I WOUNDER WHY!!!! LOL

Most likely not being able to compete with the larger shops.  They were a small shop that turned out few games.

A lawnmower racing game is a very niche game that really doesn't have wide market appeal.  That's just the way it is.

Xbox game would be alot of fun. Maybe one day?

As far as I know EV Interactive is no longer in business.

But, if we were to talk about Xbox titles, it could possibly be done as an XLBA title.  Since those are usually home grown and require far less money to get into.  I'm still in touch with Mark (head guy at Ev Interactive), I should see if doing it this way would be a possibility.

Maybe an Atari version is in the works???

Bert

8-Bit lawnmower racing!  oh yeah!  It would look something like this:

I have the pc version, kinda fun but nothing like I expected.

It's really not bad for what it was.

I had gotten into modifying it for a while and made a 50 cube twin engine... different handling chassis... more gearing options... different racers...

The only problem was they used a proprietary graphics format that I could never change.  So I could make new parts, with new stats and new names, but the image would always be the old version.

Still a lot of fun racing against Bert and George in a race with my modifications.  :)

OK IF IN NO PATICULAR ORDER THEN I GIVE UP MY PATIENCE IS THIN WHAT ABOUT THE BOX SHOULD WE NOTICE.

Geesh George... you're not one for fun today I guess...

How about in particular order:

Yes - it's says its for the xbox
No - We're not looking at the two mowers to see if they are the same, as you mentioned, they are not the same person.
No - it's not available for anything except the PC
Yes - you were correct about the guys being different.

This is a box that was given to me while I was working with EV Interactive on the game.  There never was a game inside of it. Although I did play it on the Xbox at one point during development.

I just found it this morning while going through my DVD's and thought it would be interesting to post here.  You can also tell that this is a pre-publish box because on the Rating is says "Anticipated".

USLMRA Races / Re: 2012 USLMRA Schedule
« on: May 08, 2012, 02:36:57 pm »
STA-BIL Series USLMRA National Points Races Day, June 23 Zion, Nostalgia Days is cancelled. Our good friend in Zion, George Dukas wishes everyone all the best and he hopes for our return in the future. Thanks George for ALL you have done for lawn mower racing over the past 4 years! You are ONE OF US!

Do we know why it was canceled?

We seem to lose races in Illinois all the time and rarely does another one come up to replace it.  Where'd Mendota go?  Lisle?  Kankakee? Any of the rest?

We'll have a update next week....

Facebook says the Zion race is cancelled.  Heymow says it's "on hold".  Two very different things.  Which is it?

It's the only USLMRA Points race in Illinois anymore (we used to have plenty when I started) and it's disappointing to see it, well, whatever it is, on hold or cancelled.

Hopefully we can get another race to take it's place in Illinois as close as it was.

Awesome photos as always David.  Do you have the one head shot that you used for this composition?

I uploaded the photo onto facebook.  you'll have to do a little cropping, but it's there in a folder called "in memory".

Sorry, didn't check back this weekend...  I thought I included that one with the rest of the photos.  I guess I didn't.

Gimmie a day and I'll track it back down and put it up so you can grab it.  If you don't see it by wednesday, send me a message on Facebook.
did anyone notice how the tire was close to coming off the bead on the outside front tire

But it didn't.  I think he went on to win that race after the photo was taken.

Why dilute the classes that you already have by adding more classes?
