Briggs Flathead / i need some experts on this
« on: January 02, 2010, 08:39:17 pm »
ok guys i got a idea from all the reading i have done and i have not saw this idea yet .  first off the motor will be a 11hp briggs single flathead. i will be useing parts from a 12hp briggs flatty . what i am thinking will work i am not sure i haven't measured anything i just know some details. is take the 11hp and put the 12hp crank in it witch requars a shorter rod but instead of doing that why not use the avs piston witch in a 12hp reqires a long rod so my ? is if i put a 12hp crank in a 11hp block and use the avs piston could i use the regular rod and would this make it run better kinda like a stroker. i am kinda thinking that it will but at the same time i think that i want run but as good as the 12hp would have to start with so lets hear some ideas and if anyone has tryed this and it work realy good or tryed it and it worked realy crapy let me know

base your input on the class i will be runnig it is a prepared chassis

the motor must be stock ungoverned motor you can change exuast and thats it the catch is i can interchange stock parts thus the question above i am looking to find the best posible combo of stock parts that will give me the best power in this class

when i say stock i mean no port work cam no billet no advanced keyway in the flywheel i think you can drill out the jet in the carb if you want and use a 11hp head but thats as far as you can go in this class
