Tires / hoosier tires
« on: July 01, 2013, 06:58:21 pm »
Would anybody be interested in a hoosier 12/8/6 in a 50 or 55 compound. I'm looking to see if there is a market  on the mower side to help sway them into making them. On my karts i'm required to run a 50 duro tire on the rr and want to run a 6.5 tire on the left rear but that gives me way to much stagger they won't make a taller 6.5 but would make a harder 12/8/6 if there is a market for it .

We have a gator 6x4 that has one of these and the crank bushing seized up on it. Contacted deere and they say they can;t get a new bushing have to get a new block for a cool g. or new motor for 1900. They said they were going to check with kaw to see if they can get just the bushing. my quiestion is if they can't what material should i use to have one made out of . the old one was almuinum but was thinking or going brass like i have seen in several old briggs flathead kart motors. anybody else done this before

Other Interesting Builds / winged outlaw kart conversion
« on: January 21, 2012, 12:39:50 am »
just finished the cage on my first outlaw conversion. for those that have never seen these you put recievers on the nerf bar mounts and rear frame rails to mount a spring loaded cage to keep the chassis from binding

Coffee Shop / limited mod class
« on: December 18, 2011, 09:50:01 pm »
with other forms of racing you see limited classes that use a modified chassis but limit the motors to keep costs reasonable. so does mower racing have a class with a mod chassis but a say a 8hp or lower motor. looking at prices and you could build a dang nice clone that will put out about 12-15 hp for less then just a billet wheel for a 28 runs. just wondering if anybody has a class like this of if anybody would even be interested in something like that. We race karts now and the local track owner is pretty ez to get along with and will pretty much run anything with 4 wheels.he has had mowers come before but that was just kind of just to try it out.

Driveline / ratios

what kind of ratio range would i need for a fxs plan to run a preditor clone with bully clutch and jackshaft with what i have now i can get from 2.79-6.36 i know there are alot more things to consider but was looking at going with the clutch on the jack and then putting the same size sprockets as the clutch on the other side of the jack and the motor that way i'm at 1-1 at the clutch

Coffee Shop / class help
« on: December 04, 2011, 10:26:33 pm »
just getting started here and was wondering what the differece in an fx and super mod is chassis wise. looking to build a 95 dynamark and try'n to figure out just what the difference is if any. also would a 420 preditor be a good choice for an fx motor.i race karts also so have alot of the parts i'll need and i figure that the 28 on it now i have no idea if it even turns over i got this mower from a pile durring our towns  junk pickup days this spring. by the time i buy the flywheel and all the stuff needed  for a clutch, tranny and all it would be cheaper in the long run  to go with the horizontal shaft preditor. I'm looking more at the fab side then the performance so try'n to do it as cheap as i can and still have something worth the time and money.
