Looking to Build a Basket that connects to the hitch of my truck so far i have to have a 38x62 frame for it anyone done this before and been successful going across country and i dont need it flexing lol. if you have pictures that would greatly help.
I was thinking making the hitch piece out of 16 gauge square then use thick angle iron for the box then sheet metal or square tubing for the base.

Grubdigger has one.

I'll get picks of mine. It was WAY over built but hasn't bent at all. I've drug mine all over the US and haven't had me issue. I would build mine to 40 or 42 wide in case you widen your chassis one day.

Mike Collins has one also

I would certainly be interested in some pics as well. Thanks....Doug

this is what i have so far its a 5ft 2x2 x 1/4" thick square tubing with a 65x41 Angle Iron Base all thats missing is the center braces as of now it holds me 302 lbs and my buddy whos 156 lbs so 458 lbs is not bad even tho the mowers down weight that. So far i have $50 into it. Ill post more pictures this week of it getting the floor and lighting.

With what ya have, you'll never bend it hauling mowers and your 2x2 square definately isn't going anywhere. I would weld a cross brace on each side of the 2x2 connecting your angle pieces. And that would just be to hold a piece of plywood to and not allow it to sag

Looka good big mike nice job ;)

I built mine also, could have bought one cheaper for the cost of the material. Wont do that again.

yeah ive braced the inside with 6 pieces of 3/4 by .095 wall tubing and placed a piece of diamond plate over top and installed the lighting will get picture soon. ive got $50 into her now and i can only do that because there is a BIG metal distributor that sells to the race teams and i use my team discount LOL.
