On my horizontal vanny i was wondering if my clutch chain could be stable with an idler sprocket and a bolt and nut on a slotted piece of flat stock,or.....does it have to have a idler with a spring to let the chain give??

So i set my new carb and throttle bracket all up on my horizontal vanguard and the cable comes directly from under the carb and pulls strait down,my question is,i need some ideas for the return springs,seem like no matter how i set them up just to try it,they keep binding up,i know they cant pull straight back so i have them pullin at a little angle,doesnt seem to work to well

I also ordered a set of the white ones that are 2800 so those will prob work better for me,the stocks engage at idle for you? That idle seems a little high then

Ok so if im spinning about 4500 is it better to just use the stock springs that are 2500 or are the white springs that engage at 2800?

Well its a small big track lol so id love to have more torque so i can just get it out of the corners but top end is nice but only if its a lil bit bigger track

Ok so im running a horizontal 16 hp vanny with a two barrel and some internal work,spins about 4500 rpm,i run 8" rears and am using a 6:1 gearing
15 to 30 then 16 to 48
Im using the noram star with a 15 tooth but i ordered a new clutch and its a 16 tooth,i can use my 15 tooth drum but my main question is....will the 16 tooth drum help me more or less on the track? Its a 1/8 mile oval
or would i be better just using the 15? And also have questions about springs too

Does anyone know who sells good exhaust gaskets for the vanguard 16 hp heads? Looking for something better then the graphoil ones,and do u know a part number if its other then the stock ones?

I'll just run a longer cable and route it to where i need and come straight up with the cable to the throttle shaft,hook it up to the hole and make the cable pull the shaft straight down when i pull the hand throttle...... Simple

Ok so I'll order another spacer now for the carb and elbow,these carbs are weird,once they hit half throttle they kind of swoop down and the linkage isnt straight,im tryin to hook up a bell crank throttle on this set up but im kinda lost on how to hook up the straight linkage to make it open and close fully
