Actually its 3 builds 1. 60ci air cooled briggs v-twin to power 1936 Harley replica . briggs engine without shouds looks like its from 1920s High performance/High compression pistons, cams, rods , carb, valves, rockers ect fully modified . A company that builds performance briggs engines stated engine should make roughly 75 hp at the crank.
2. 45ci briggs v-twin fully modified a above engine. This is going in pro chasis to race next season . HP unknown?
What HORSEPOWER AND TORQUE DO THE SUPER MODIFED MOWERS MAKE/RUN???
3. THIS IS THE...VERY.. UNIQUE BUILD .... THE BRIGGS 60CI(993cc) liquid cooled briggs v-twin.
this engine has had CRYOGENIC METAL TREATMENT,COATED FORGED PISTONS AND RODS, 10:1 compression, TITANIUM VALVES , RACE SPRINGS, CERAMIC ENGINE BEARINGS, KEHIN RACE CARB,PORTED,POLISHED HEADS , STEEL RACING CRANK , FEBER RACING RADIATOR AND OIL COOLER, STAINLESS HIGH FLOW OIL FILTER ECT ECT.
QUESTION HORSEPOWER& TORQUE OF DRAG RACING MOWERS? UNLIMITED MOWERS?
THIS ENGINE IS TO POWER A NEW ..HARLEY DAVIDSON ULTRA ELECTRA GLIDE WITH 6 SPEED BAKER TRANSMISSION.
ON PAPER , THE UNDERSQUARE COMBUSTION CHAMBERS AND 90 DEGREE CYLINDER ANGLE IS ACTUALLY A ..BETTER .. ENGINE FOR A TOURING MOTORCYCLE THAN THE ORIGINAL HARLEY ENGINE . THE BRIGGS DESIGN DEVELOPES HP& TORQUE AT A LOW RPM COMBINED WITH THE UNDER SQUARE COMBUSION CHAMBERS+LOW BOOST TURBOCHARGING CREATES A WIDE LEVEL POWERBAND ( LIKE A MACK/CUMMINGS ECT DIESEL) IMAGINE A HARLEY WITH NO VIBRATION, STONG EVEN POWER AT ALL RPM AND TWICE THE POWER.
QUESTION: HORSEPOWER& TORQUE OF UNLIMITED BRIGGS DRAG MOWERS & SUPER MODIFIED TRACK MOWERS.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR HP/TORQUE FIGURES SO WE DONT UNDER ESTIMATE STRESS AND MISS A WEAKNESS IN THE ENGINE . THANK YOU PAUL END

My question is who would buy a new $20000 Harley and yank the engine and tranny?
If a guy has that kind of cash he could build some serious power with the Harley mill. And less work.
How much HP are your builds making?

My crew chief on the motorcycle race team was the head racing engineer at Buell and also has won 21 or 22 national titles as a crew chief. He knows EVERYONE lol and is getting phenominal deals for the Harley components for the build . The rolling chassis comes in around 1/2 of the sticker price ( roughly 10-12k) The last Mower racer I ran was with a different mechanic ( my currenent crew chief was starting new business and took 2 years off of racing ) The race mower engine used then was a B&S OHV single starting with a 420cc ? displacement and then stroked to roughly 600cc. Compression 14.5 worked heads valves ect ect ect . I ...THINK.. we here getting about 40hp, but our main concern was attaining a broad, flat power band and good midrange .As im sure you know , Horsepower isnt worth much if you cant get the tires to hook up off the corners.
Question: Have the cases/block and the crank main bearings on the Briggs Vanguard engines held up well? any weak points in the engines that we should work on ? thank You Paul End
