Coffee Shop / Re: Spelling...
« on: December 22, 2010, 11:11:00 pm »
It's a  forum for people to discuss and just talk.  I understand that people,  can openly read post and there are some, including myself that have trouble with spelling and grammar.  The orginal intent of lawnmower racing in the US was for a  grassroot sport that anyone could afford to participate in.  I would hate it if some of the most mechanically minded people, decide not to share their ideas and thoughts, because they were embarrassed or didn't want to face ridicule from others over spelling and grammar.  Yes, lawnmower racing has evolved into much more than probably ever expected or intended. I think those who participate in the sport should be proud of themselves and others who race, not embarrased by the simplicity of the idea or those who participate.  People sharing and discussing things is what has made this sport so great, it has brought a sense of equality to everyone.

Coffee Shop / Re: WONDERFUL DAY

Everyday on this earth is WONDERFUL!  A week ago today, about this time, I was lying in my living room floor thinking I was having a heart attack.  It hurt so bad at the time, the alternative looked good.   After getting to a doctor and getting some nitro, it eased up a little.  Well, needless to say, 3 episodes, a heart catherization, and a few days in the hospital, WILL remind you how wonderful your life is!  Also, you learn to respect the life God has given you, family, friends.

Yes Don it will.
You may have to trim around the intake and carb and starter.

It's legal, the idea is to make the chassis alot like the widebody chassis with a few diagonal supports for strength to minimize the twist of the frame.

Don Whitehead from Michigan built this same chassis,he cuts out all the floor pan from the dash back to the rear axle.  He welds a diagonal piece in to mount the clutch to, instead of using the factory clutch mount area on the floor pan.  I have done it both ways with this chassis, it's 30 minutes and 2 pounds difference.

There used to be pics in the build section,  they are no longer there, photobuck is inactive.

He would have to put metal back in for the clutch, if he cut the material you are talking about.

I spoke out of turn, I should have checked the specs before I spoke.  Thanks George!  I would have felt bad if he bought those based on my incorrect nfo.

Early Inteks were known for sucking dirt into the intake, causing the rods to seize and break.  Personally i wouldn't run a Intek without EC carb intake and filter combo.  You can put all th goodies you want in the motor but, if it's sucking dirt around the filter and into the heads and pistons your wasting time and money.  Just my 2 cents.

A box for all the parts!  Lawnmower trannies will not hold up, and if you continue to rev a engine to 6000 rpm without billet rods, billet flywheel, or other mods you will find the weak link in your engine. Usually that weak link will make a hole in the block so it's easy to find.
