McMaster and grainger don't have anything in that size. So I guess your right George. I thought it might be a good upgrade to 3/4" being mower are twice as heavy as karts that these hubs are made for. If I did the math right they only spin at 1000 rpms at 40mph so a high speed bearing should not be needed.

Does anybody know where I might find some quality high speed bearing with a 3/4" inside diameter that will fit  hubs standard front kart hubs? I found some for a hand cart that would fit but I would not trust them to last very long.

I think the point of the wider rim is to stiffen the sidewall not give you a wider foot print.

What if your rims stick out further than the sidewall of the tire? Does the rim not count to your total width?

Forgive my ignorance but how does a vacuum fuel pump make a vacuum in the crank case? I have thought about creating crank case vacuum for more power but was not sure how to do it on a mower engine.

I am considering swapping out the stock carb on my intek to an 1 1/8" bore carburetor. Would this help or hinder performance on an engine with stock heads, cam, ec intake, and aluminum flywheel.

I got my axle bolted in and the first race on it seems to work just fine. I went a different route and welded a plate on the end of the frame rail and bushing flush in the axle tube.

I belive exhaust port polishing is also suppose to deminish carbon buildup because it can't stick as well.

This mower was my first build and I put the axle in strait up no caster and there is not quite enough adjustment to get it to 10 degrees. I am hoping a little more caster will help my issue with being loose off the corner. When you put your shorter front axle in for your brakes did you increase your scrub radius to keep the same width? How did that change the handling.

Nice mower and thanks for the quick reply. My main concern with bolting in the axle was loss in strength but that seems to be an non issue with only two bolts holding your axle in. I was planing on remounting my axle to gain some caster so I think I will bolt it in when I put it back. Though I will not be able to do axle changes in minutes my exhaust header is in the way.
