I have a 28 briggs bored and sleeved to a 31. Bore is measuring 3.566 out of round by .004. Is there a piston and ring set to bore this over by ten or twenty or do I have to have it resleeved?? It was burning oil real bad this why I tore it down! Thanks in advance!

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / 14.5 ohv
« on: August 18, 2013, 09:30:25 pm »
I have two 14.5 hp engine I put in mowers for the governed class and both of them run fine without air cleaners. When you put air cleaners on the flood out. Can't even put the black cover over carb. The only change to these motors is the exhaust and grinding off the auto shut off valve tip. Need these to race next weekend. Any help would be appreciated. Both engines do the same thing!!!! Thanks

Im assuming i didnt get it in the right position as i didnt know i had to until my dad had mentioned i might want to ask and see how to do that. Thanks

Briggs Flathead / Air Cleaner
« on: January 14, 2012, 03:47:30 pm »
I had my motor at the shop and had it bored and a valve put in. When i picked it up the guy told me the old piston was wore really bad! It has no teflon left on it and is really scratched up. He had told me this could be do to dirt getting in the cylynder. I am running a air cleaner from ec. Is this good to run? I am also wondering if i should oil it with a air filter oil to eliminate the dirt getting thru? Thanks The motor only had may be 10 racer on that piston.
