Thanks Paul I raced last weekend and got top of the points table, but like any mower racer I want to slowly improve my machine.i have just ordered chromemoly push rods, heavy valve springs and bullet retainers and a custom 90 degree airbox to fit pod filter.sorry if this is a silly question but 6 degrees advance or retard ? My guess is advance but pays to ask and do you run high octain fuel ? I run 91 pump gas at the moment but am buying some copper head gaskets aswell .I am upto my 5th mower build but havnt done much engine wise.any help is greatly appreciated 👍

6deg advance,as far as springs ,retainers and push rods go,your stock springs are good for 5-5500rpm,i wouldn't want to run a stock motor much higher than that anyways and the copper head gaskets wont gain you anything ,but maybe leaks!!,I would mill heads .040 and put new stock gaskets on if it were me.

Ozzy,

For better fuel, go to your local airport and get some 100LL (100 Octane, Low-Lead) AvGas.
