Title: Honda GXV340 or 390(Vertical Shaft) Billet Flywheel & Rod?
Post by: Flipper on January 19, 2015, 10:13:28 am
When using a Honda Single OHV  Vertical Shaft – GXV340 or GXV390…..
What Rod are you guys using. ARC says they don’t know if the Billet rod for the Horizontal will work for a Vertical Application.

Also, What Flywheel & Coil are you using?
I see they offer one for the GX340-390 Horizontal. Not sure if it will work for Vertical?
I hear the newer stock coil has a built in 4500rpm rev limiter, so that will need to be replaced with something.

Might as well ask about cams also.........

Is there a builder out there that is making these engines turn key?

i have no info on your question . but they make a clone of those engine 420cc . MTD use them . if the parts fit it may be a very nice and cheap engine to build .. surplus center have those for around 300$

Arc flywheel works fine rod will also will have to reuse stock cast cam core it has oil pump fork like briggs beaffy as well. if you choose to use rod with .490 pin with Je piston I have those in stock. A little extra $ you can use arc flywheel with Pvl. Ing. Sweet setup.
