Well.. tried again some today.. Its getting gas, plug was after some pulling. Flywheel key is not sheared. Has compression and spark.. IDK what to do. The Carb Ports seem open. I sprayed some carb cleaner down the ports in hopes to find one clogged.. but thats all I did as i didnt feel like tearing down the carb. But anyhow got here to run for 15 seconds and that was all..

Hey guys, I don't know what to do, I've done everything I know without luck. I am putting the gx200 in my work tractor at the house (stock motor), anyhow, ran great before I put it in, but now its not running, Its getting spark, getting fuel, has compression. The only thing is, is when we got a bit of snow, I came into the garage, to find it sitting in a small puddle but that shouldn't of hurt anything.. Please help.. I'm getting really     Lol

What make you think it needs anymore than what it already has?
I've been repowering tractors (to use as tractors) for years. I have a John Deere 70 that I made into a row-crop tractor with a center mount cultivator. It is repowered with a 7hp briggs vertical shaft engine from a power washer. Has plenty of power. I have cultivated acres of corn with it. Very good on gas too.

We are developing a lawn tractor pulling series as well in PA. I have a prototype JD 70 puller built now. We have done some testing with it on a transfer. The GX200 it has is just a stocker for now but ran fine in testing, traction ran out before power did.

Tom
Thank You for the input, I'm going to be putting larger tires on this for down in the woods (only 21" quad tires)  And am gonna be pulling firewood up and down my hill. Thats why I am wanting more so I dont have to work it hard to do stuff. This is out of a pressure washer as well.

Hey guys, I got a old MTD 700 tractor here I'm making into an around the house work tractor. I'm wondering how you make more torque with these as I'm more of a briggs builder. It'll be governed so I assume no need for billet rod and flywheel?? I just want more low end power.
Here she is atm,

Hey guys, I'm building a work tractor for around the yard out of a MTD Seven Hundred. I'm not looking for rpms, therefore its staying governed. I'm looking for bottom end torque, grunt, power, whatever. I know you can do some work with the cam and such. Trying to keep the engine on a 250 dollar budget since its just a side project.
Here she is, bone stock, starts 1-2 pulls.
When I got it w. the 7hp flatty that has seen better days,

After swap,

Thanks, TBP

Briggs Flathead / Fuel Barb replacement on a 12hp Flathead.
« on: November 29, 2013, 08:20:01 pm »
Howdy guys, I got a question as to how people install the fuel line barbs on there carbs.. The stock white nylon ones keep dieing on me and its time for an upgrade. I heard they are pressure fitted in? What size barb would I need to buy? I want to do this myself if possible. Its the stock Walbro that came on 12hp flatheads.

Hey guys, I'm curious if you have any tricks for more torque out of these engines? I have already port/polished, shaved brows on block, removed governor, added billet flywheel, counterweight link, and rod. Now I'm curious on to get the grunt out of it.
